Sharon Clary of Dumfries, Virginia passed away after a long battle with several illnesses on November 10, 2023. Born June 21, 1956 in Alexandria, Virginia she is survived by her father Norman Clary, brother Steven Clary, sister-in-law Tracy Clary and niece Grace Clary. She was proceeded in death by her mother Maria “Sandy” Clary. Sharon also had a special place in her heart for her life long childhood friends and college friends.\nSharon graduated from Hayfield High School in Alexandria, VA in 1974. She attended James Madison University earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1978.\nSharon spent 33 years with the federal government in several agencies retiring in 2012 from the Administrative Office of the US Courts as an HR Specialist. She earned Special Act Awards and Performance Awards multiple times over her long and distinguished career.\nSharon had many activities that brought joy to her life. She loved music and played piano and was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church hand bell choir. She loved needlepoint and the many hours spent at the In Stitches shop with her friends who shared her passion. After retirement she learned the art of glass blowing. She spent many summers at Camp Alleghany in West Virginia as a camper and then counselor where she excelled on the rifle range. She enjoyed traveling, visiting many exciting places during those adventures. Sharon was an avid sports fan following all the Washington teams, but nothing was more satisfying for her than when the Nationals won the World Series in 2019.\nIn lieu of flower donations may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
