Judette O'Nell Burton

Judette O'nell Burton, affectionately known as Judy, departed this life on January 25, 2024 surrounded by family. Born on May 10, 1955 in Minter, Alabama to Aaron and Cola Thrash, Judy was the eldest of 8 children.

She shared a special love of cooking, bowling, animals, and horticulture with others. She brought a smile to many through jokes, suggesting home remedies, retail sales and discounts, and Farmers Almanac content, and throughout her life, provided service to the public and school children, many of whom recognized her around Alexandria, Virginia years later. Her one of a kind laugh and love of Tweety Bird made her stand out, as did her love for her family, friends (especially Joanne) and neighbors. Judy spent time daily caretaking for her mother, sister Aretha, and nephew Calvin, who was her favorite bowling buddy/apprentice. She loved the Lord, joining Mt. Jezreel Baptist Church in 2001.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Cola Thrash.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories: her husband of 24 years, Marc Burton; her brothers James and David; her sisters Delinda, Vivian, Melissa, Camilla, and Aretha; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, in-laws, other relatives, friends and neighbors, and her doggy companion, Shadow.
