F. Chris ("Seek") Sechrist

On May 26, 2023, F. Chris ("Seek") Sechrist took one final, adventurous leap straight to the arms of the Lord. Born on August 11, 1964, in Takoma Park, MD, Seek spent his 58 years as an extremely charismatic, funny, generous, and spiritual man. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. A true jack-of-all-trades, he spent years as a residential Contractor, garnering praise and recognition for his great skills and abilities. When he wasn't busy MacGyvering solutions, Seek could be found working out, hobby farming, fishing, or tossing horseshoes with the best of them.

Seek's life was a journey filled with humor, warmth, and love. He was blessed to find faith in God and a community of recovery that dramatically changed his life. His passion for tinkering, gardening, and caring for animals was matched only by his love for his family and friends. And while he fought a courageous battle against cancer, Seek always insisted he was a very blessed man. He is survived by many loving family members: his wife, Laura Sechrist; his children, Kayla (Austin) Uphoff, sons, Sean & Luke Sechrist; his former wife, Pattie Crawford (James Tucker); his siblings, Claire Garrett, Ben Sechrist, and Sam (Tricia) Sechrist; and his large extended family including his loving grandsons, many nieces, nephews, and sisters and brothers-in-law. He also has an adoring fan club of close friends from all parts of his life. Seek was preceded in death by his mother, Claire Furlong.
